A dyslexia screening assessment provides an initial indication of whether a pupil may be at risk of dyslexia and would benefit from further investigation or targeted support.
Screening can be a useful first step in identifying potential barriers to literacy
development and informing intervention planning.
The screening process may include:

Collection of background information from parents, school staff and the pupil where appropriate.

Review of educational history, attainment data and current areas of concern.

Assessment of key literacy and cognitive skills associated with dyslexia, such as phonological awareness, phonological processing, memory, rapid naming, reading and spelling.

A dyslexia screener does not provide a formal diagnosis of dyslexia. However, it offers valuable information to help schools and families understand a pupil's learning needs and determine whether a full diagnostic assessment may be appropriate.
Specialist Tuition
Specialist tuition is tailored to the individual learner's strengths, needs and learning profile.
Following consultation with parents and/or school, a personalised programme of
support is developed to target identified areas of difficulty while building confidence and independence.
Sessions may focus on:

The aim of specialist tuition is to develop skills, confidence and
independence.
Diagnostic Dyslexia Assessment
(Note: a child must have had an eye test in the last 2 years)
A comprehensive assessment process that includes:

Things to consider:
What is Dyslexia? How is it manifest?
Dyslexia is a set of processing difficulties that affect the acquisition of reading and spelling. The most commonly observed cognitive impairment in dyslexia is a difficulty in phonological processing (i.e. in phonological awareness, phonological processing speed or phonological memory).
However, phonological difficulties do not fully explain the variability that is observed. Working memory, processing speed and orthographic skills can contribute to the impact of dyslexia.
What is the impact? Is their literacy profile unexpected?
In dyslexia, some or all aspects of literacy attainment are weak in relation to age, standard teaching and instruction, and level of other attainments. Across languages and age groups, difficulties in reading fluency and spelling are a key marker of dyslexia.
